Ila Kizhi

Ila Kizhi is a stamp massage in which 9-12 different fresh Vata-reducing herbs are cut up and roasted with other ingredients in hot oil. Afterwards this preparation is bound in cloths to boluses. Ila means “leaf” and kizhi stands for the bolus to which the whole thing is bound.

During the treatment, the boluses are warmed up again and again, as this treatment belongs to the fomentation.

Indication:
It is used for neurological problems, arthritis, myalgia, chronic back pain, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, sports accidents, sciatica. It reduces pain, stiffness, inflammation and edema.
