Nasya

Nasya is a head treatment in which medicated oils, ghee, herbal powder or fresh herbal juices are applied into the nose. The Nasya treatment cleans the entire head area – nose, frontal sinus, sinuses, throat – as well as the shoulder and neck area.

First, an intensive head massage with medicated oil is carried out, followed by herbal steam inhalation to open the fine body channels (śrotas) and liquefy the hardened mucus. The oil (or one of the other substances) is then applied into the nose. The mucus that is released is excreted through the mouth.

Indication:
Nasya treatments are extremely effective for trigeminal neuralgia, Bell’s palsy (hemiplegia), cervical spondylosis, nasal polyps, epilepsy, migraine, tinnitus, salivary gland enlargement, brain tumours, rhinitis and headaches of various origins.
